I am interested in knowing  how you feel about EyeJot.

It's a Seattle based company that offers a free video email solution that also supports attachments. It turbo charges   standard emails by  making your messages very visual  and could be a cool way to reach out to prospective customers.

They make it pretty easy too.

You'll need  your browser of course, as well as a web cam.  And your video email can be customised to reflect your corporate look and feel.

If you have time this weekend, try it. I'd be interested in getting your opinion.

Hurm. I am not too sure that people actually want video email. Realtime video, sure, but I think that Skype can do that. I'm not too sure that this is yet a feasible solution (hate HATE that word) for anybody not yet on broadband. For dialup this will suck massively by definition.

More critically, email is just another channel now. Great for the older folk, but a lot of younger people actually don't use email that much, but rather they Facebook and Twitter (data plans permitting) and IM. Email is much less valuable now because of the spam problem. Critical mass, sure. In its current form. Not sure the bandwidth is there as yet for video mails.

Oh it's completely feasible. (Ha. I share your sentiment about that word)

I tested it this weekend and once you get over the strangeness of talking to yourself in your camera, it worked. I thinks its fine for corporate email and almost everyone I know (in corporate T&T) is hooked up up to broadband. My colleague got the email in seconds and was able to open it without a hitch.

It's definitely not a one-size-fits-all though but I think it makes email a bit more personable in some instances, I know the Obama campaign used it a lot during the election period. I also really like the fact that it can be customised.

I agree with your comments on Facebook, Twitter, IM. Thanks Richard, your comments are always appreciated.
